National Athletics Stadium

Gordon Andrews was an Australian designer who worked closely with Philip Cox & Partners to develop a complementary program of signage for the National Athletics Stadium in Canberra. Describing this project in his own words he said, “The situation called for clarity, simplicity and boldness.” Entrances were designed with abstract graphics derived from athletic references while bright colours were utilized to relieve the visual weight of the concrete structure.

Andrews is also known for designing Australia’s original decimal currency banknotes that were released in February of 1966.

Marius Roosendaal

Fantastic work by Netherlands by designer Marius Roosendaal. I really love the worn look given to each piece. He also uses a lot of design queues frequently found in pieces from the modernism movement. Makes them feel like they were designed in the 50s and 60s. Love it.
